Don Fergusson is the retired president of a leading American company (Rust-Oleum), management consultant, leadership coach, relationship consultant, workshop leader, speaker, author, songwriter, and musician. Ultimately serving as Chairman, President, and Chief Operating Officer, he led the company to record sales and profits. He then successfully engineered the strategic sale of the business.
His goal is to practice what he preaches. He has developed and sold a high-profile business, endured the crash of a 13-year marriage and two- and-a-half year divorce war, thrived through personal reinvention, and discovered powerful strategies to create joy in relationships and life. Don was a Hall of Fame gymnast at the College of William & Mary in Virginia, Significant Sig of Sigma Chi fraternity (his one connection with John Wayne), and a Graduate of Kellogg Business School.
His expertise is the direct outcome of nearly two decades of intensive work in the field of intimacy and relationships, and more than 35 years in business. He has developed and led couples’ workshops, retreats and seminars for the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO); he coaches executives and couples in life transformation and the development of intimate relationships; and serves as a business consultant for management development and team building.
In December of 2007, Don and his wife Stacey formed a rock band called The Ride, recording the original song, One Ride, at Abbey Road Studio in London in June of 2008, followed by a performance at the world-famous Cavern Club and Cavern Pub in Liverpool. His story and music video appear on the band’s website and on You Tube. He then co-founded Vanaka.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, graduating in 2006 as “Student of the Year.” He also holds a Master’s Degree from Kellogg Graduate School of Management (1977) and a B.A. in Management from the College of William and Mary in Virginia (1975). Today, his life mission is to learn, to love, and to laugh often, in an exquisite life balance – and support others to live an extraordinary life.
